Sorrento Cricket Club

THE CLUB

Sorrento Cricket Club is a proud, family-focused community club with more than 130 years of history. We welcome players of all ages and abilities, from Woolworths Cricket Blast and junior cricket through to five senior men’s teams and our growing Senior Women’s Team.

Competing in the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association, the club provides a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where players can develop their skills, build lifelong friendships and enjoy the game of cricket.

Sorrento Cricket Club is located on the traditional lands of the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we play our game and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of First Nations peoples and are committed to the journey of reconciliation.

2024 Victorian Sport Awards

Sporting Club of the Year

Sorrento Cricket Club was honoured as Sporting Club of the Year at the 2024 Victorian Sport Awards.

The award recognised the club’s commitment to inclusion, community participation and the continued growth of cricket, including the establishment of its first Senior Women’s Team and a successful women’s cricket “Come and Try” event.

This achievement reflects the contribution of the club’s players, coaches, volunteers, committee members, sponsors and supporters.

2024–25 Community Cricket Awards

Community Partnership of the Year

Sorrento Cricket Club was recognised as Community Partnership of the Year at the Cricket Victoria Community Cricket Awards.

The club also received Highly Commended recognition at the Cricket Australia Community Cricket Awards, acknowledging its strong community partnerships and commitment to inclusive participation.

The award celebrates the work of the club and its community partners in creating welcoming cricket opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
